Reindeer Rice Krispies Treats

Watch as Santa 365 creates some scrumptious treats -- Rice-Krisp Reindeer Treats, that is. You too can make these delightful snacks by following these simple instructions below. These treats are traditionally made with "Snap, Crackle, Pop,Rice Krispies™. However, store brand, crisp-rice cereal works just fine.

Rice-Krisp Reindeer Treats Recipe

Makes Sixteen Servings. The recipe may be reduced in half for smaller batches.


  • 6 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 packages (10 oz.) of Marshmallows (fresh is best)

  • 12 cups Crisp Rice Cereal — store brand is okay. (traditional made with Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal)

For Decorating

  • 2 12oz bags, of your favorite Chocolate Chips

  • 1 tube of White Decorating Icing

  • 1 Bag Assorted Jelly Beans

  • 1 Bag Small Pretzels (for Reindeer Antlers)


  1. Apply oil or a non-stick cooking spray to a 13"X9" sheet pan lined with parchment

  2. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat.

  3. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

  4. Add Krisp Rice cereal.

  5. Stir until well coated.

  6. Using buttered spatula, evenly press mixture into the pan.

  7. Cool in the refrigerator until the mixture is firm.

  8. Remove from the refrigerator and turn the sheet of treats onto your cutting board. Then cut into16 equal size rectangle pieces.

  9. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30-second intervals -- stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is smooth.

  10. Place a sheet of parchment on the countertop

  11. Coat each treat rectangle with chocolate

  12. Dip edges of the pretzels in the chocolate and position for the antlers

  13. Press Red Jelly Beans into the chocolate for noses

  14. Use the white decorating icing to make the whites of the eyes,

  15. Then, cut jelly beans in half to use as eyes, and press them into the white icing.

  16. Let the decorated treats sit for a while on the counter, long enough for the chocolate to harden.


  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.

  • Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.

  • Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.

  • To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container.

  • Freeze for up to 6 weeks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
